History The Asian Pacific Art Institute of America (APAIA) was founded by art educator and recipient of the �Twentieth Century Achievement Award�, �Chinese Artist of Fine and Art� Jiashan Mu, Mrs Anna Chennault and a group of renowned Asian artists in June,1998 in Washington D.C. area. With the 10 years hard work by the colleagues from all around the world, APAIA has become a leading research and education institute that brings and introduces the oriental art to the West. The faculties and students have won over 500 international and USA federal major art awards. Tenet APAIA is a professional art organization in pursuit of art education as well as art publications, art exhibitions and international exchange of art and culture. The objectives of the institute is to pass on the Asian Pacific art and traditional culture and present the high level achievements of the contemporary artist, musicians, performers and writers from all Asian Pacific countries.

历史 美国亚太艺术研究院(Asian Pacific Art Institute of America)1998年在美国马里兰州政府注册,于美国首都华盛顿近郊哥伦比亚市创建的。是由艺术教育家、美国�二十世纪成就奖�获得者、海外学院派代表画家穆家善先生和美国飞虎队队长陈纳德将军夫人、国际合作委员会主席陈香梅女士汇同一批杰出的亚洲旅美艺术家共同创办的。庆典之日,马里兰州长格兰丹宁派专员送来贺函、中国驻美大使馆教育处蒋妙瑞参赞亲颁大使馆贺匾�传东方艺术神韵,架东西文化虹桥�,新华社发有通稿、中央电视台专题报道。各国同仁们十年的共同奋斗, 美国亚太艺术研究院已成为向西方介绍东方艺术的权威学术研究、教学机构, 师生获500余项国际、全美国联邦艺术大奖. 宗旨 美国亚太艺术研究院是一所集文化、艺术、教育、研究、出版、展览和国际学术交流于一体无政治倾向的专业学术机构。研究院凝聚来自亚太各国一流的艺术家、学者将在绘画、音乐、舞蹈、戏剧、文学等领域全面展示亚裔艺术家在现代艺术上的探索成就,肩负起培养亚太文化传人的重担,并推出高水准的国际文化艺术交流活动。 大事记: 1998年起本研究院与《人民日报》(海外版)联合主办《APAIA国际少儿艺术大赛》、《富远杯国际艺术大展》。研究院多次主办《国际当代中国画研讨会》、《第一届中国古董艺术节》、《援助中国赈灾书画义卖展》、《援助台湾赈灾书画义卖展》、《爱心奉献-为美国儿童艾滋病基金会捐款--美国亚太艺术研究院师生作品义卖拍卖会》、《旅美亚洲艺术家年展》、《国际儿童画展》、八届《美国亚太艺术研究院师生书画展》、《APAIA少儿美术天才奖》、《美国当代画坛名家教授赴中国讲学团》、《美国亚太艺术研究院赴黄山写生团》、《美国亚太艺术研究院赴美国西部七州写生团》、连续主办六期《中国文化艺术夏令营》和一些个展、组展、艺术教学、培训等。推动、派人员参加了�国际汉字书法教学研讨会�(华盛顿)、�国际红学研讨会�(中国)、�中国水墨画百年回顾及其在新世纪发展前景�学术研讨会(纽约)。从2001年起穆家善院长三度获中国教育部�春晖计划基金�,应邀赴北京大学、清华大学美术学院、南京大学艺术研究院、厦门大学艺术学院、嘉庚学院、南京艺术学院、南京师范大学美术学院、西安美术学院、、上海大学艺术研究院、数码艺术学院、上海戏剧学院等高校巡回讲学。2003年应邀为哈佛大学、耶鲁大学、普林斯顿大学、马利兰美术学院等28所美国名校的博硕生讲授中国书画艺术,被西方誉为�推广现代亚洲艺术的巨匠��中国文化大使�、�海外学院派代表画家�等。院长穆家善2005年受聘任蒙哥马利学院中国画兼职教授、担任该院中国画教学学术主持。2007年受聘为厦门大学艺术学院客座教授、厦门大学嘉庚学院艺术设计系客座教授、上海大学艺术研究院兼职教授、上海大学数码艺术学院客座教授、上海戏剧学院客座教授。
